Accountable for overall customer experience for Safeco.com, Safeco’s consumer portal, Safeco Now, the company’s B2b portal and inside.safecco.com, Safeco’s internal employee facing website. Responsible for informing and educating business leaders on the benefits of user centered design and how incorporating these methodologies into the culture will reduce expenses increase retention and increase user satisfaction. Managed a team of 4 usability specialists and designers.

• Lead end-to-end usability efforts for www.teensurance.com, the point of sale web site for Safeco’s Teensurance products; on track to increase market share of policies with teens from 1.5% to 3%

• Managed usability and research efforts that reduced consumer transaction abandonment rate by 15% on Safeco’s online quoting system.

• Collaborated with the Internet Channel Manager, IT Teams, and Senior leaders on the redesign of the Safeco.com site which resulted in increase in high value pages by 20-50%.

• Lead user experience research strategies for the Safeco’ intranet employee portal which lead to overall savings of $1.2 M dollars a year

Lead strategic usability planning, influenced the organization to become more user-centered, and created an agency-like internal group, serving customers within the company.

• Lead project research that lead to Intel’s move to wireless notebooks. This decision directly increased employee productivity 37.3% leading to increased employee productivity of $5000 per employee/year. (White Paper)
